Writer, Lecturer, Researcher, and Criminal Justice Reform Advocate
I was born in Sheridan, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming.
My love of Wyoming brought me back to the state after I earned my law degree at the University of Denver.
From associate attorney in a private law firm to public defender to prosecutor to former Executive Director
of the Wyoming Board of Parole to University of Wyoming professor, my experience has allowed me to see
many sides of the Wyoming criminal justice system. This led me to research changes and advocate reforms
to the Wyoming state legislature. I aspire to be the voice for Wyoming inmates and released prisoners.
My upcoming book, Cutting Life Short: A Second Look at Life Sentences in Wyoming, will be published soon by University of Wyoming Press
(imprint of University Press of Colorado).
In my free time, I compete in triathlons such as the Ironman.
I also volunteer for the Comea Shelter, a Cheyenne homeless shelter.
Exploring the Wyoming wilderness with my family is another great joy of my life.
